Synopsis

Competition status  – participant

One is from Sokhumi, Abkhazia -the occupied region of Georgia on the coast of the Black Sea; the other lives in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. The film opens up with these two men, far away from each other, preparing packages for a big journey. Traveling through picturesque Georgian and Abkhazian landscapes, they meet up in a secret spot near the military border to exchange precious childhood memorabilia and relive old memories.

The film is narrated in Abkhazian, a language that is spoken only in Abkhazia and one that has powerful emotional meaning for all Georgians.

The Georgian region of Abkhazia is now occupied Russia territory, controlled by a separatist government. For 25 years the conflict has scarred Georgian society as a whole. The subject is mostly taboo and people on both sides still suffer the consequences of separation, strict restrictions on travel information flow.

Inspired by real stories, the film focuses on the genuine human emotions beyond the separation of Georgians and Abkhazians, focusing on the most precious force that brings down walls – true friendship.
