Synopsis

Georgia’s Javakheti region is known mainly as an Armenian enclave. However, this is not the case; in fact, the Armenian population is actually a “minority in a minority.” Here in Javakheti, there is also a Greek population. Unfortunately, the majority of the Greek population has already migrated but they have left  marks of their culture as a legacy.

The film’s two main characters of the movie talk about their experiences, the process of the assimilation, migration to their historical homeland. The film consists of three parts. The first is about the village of Khospio, where most Greeks live in Akhalkalaki municipality. The hero of our story discusses assimilation and what it means to perceive oneself as a representative of a different nationality. The second part highlights the heritage of the Greeks, ruins of the Greek Church, and the decline in knowledge of the Pontic Greek language. The third part shows the faith and culture of the Greeks in Tsalka municipality.
