At least 416,000 people from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions have fled their homes trying to escape from the war in the Donbas, Eastern Ukraine.
About 190,000 people have relocated to other regions of Ukraine, and now more than 13,000 displaced persons from Crimea and Donbas are living in Kiev. Most of them are left without any means of support. Camps for the displaced have been set up all over the country, including in the buildings of former schools, resorts and various warehouses.
One refuge was set up in the “Dzherelo” resort in Kyiv. Many families from Donbas live there with their children. Unfortunately, the people living there face one big problem – no one for certain knows who owns the building. The resort is constantly the center of various political and business dealings, some ending in violent outbursts, explosions and even shootings. In such an atmosphere, one’s childhood ends very quickly and refuge becomes a prison.
